Aqua appoints three Special Advisors

The Advancing Quality Alliance (Aqua), the UKs leading improvement agency, is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Jackie Bene, Philip Lewer and Professor Ted Baker as Special Advisors to support Aqua’s growth and further development.

Experts in their field, Special Advisors are highly credible individuals who have all held very senior executive posts across health and social care.

With established personal and professional networks, all our Special Advisors are thought leaders committed to the principles of continuous improvement and learning.

On their appointment, Sue Holden, Chief Executive at Aqua says:

“It’s fantastic to have three individuals of such a high calibre providing support, advice, and guidance for Aqua, enabling us to execute an innovative offer to both our members and customers. They are also a critical friend to Aqua to ensure we remain current in our thinking, developing new thinking to support improvement and ultimately, make things better for patients.”

Sir David Dalton, Chair of Aqua’s Board said:

Dr Jackie Bene

Jackie is an experienced NHS Executive, with a clinical background. She has an outstanding record of transforming organisational and system performance, and championing medical leadership.

“I was delighted to be asked to join Aqua as a Special Advisor having enjoyed working with them over the years whilst I was an NHS Executive – really looking forward to getting started soon.”

Philip Lewer

As the immediate past Chair of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, Philip has over 50 years of working across health and social care.

 

 

 

Professor Ted Baker

Ted has worked at every level in the NHS, for most of his career as a clinical paediatric cardiologist, combining this with an academic, a management and latterly a regulatory career.

“The NHS has never faced more problems, but I have great confidence in the people who work in it to rise to these challenges, Aqua has an important role in helping them do this and improve services for patients. I am looking forward to supporting Aqua deliver this important work.”
