This case study describes our work with Fairfield General Hospital in improving sepsis care.
Fairfield General Hospital is the third-largest acute hospital in the Northern Care Alliance group, and part of Bury Care Organisation. The hospital participates in the AQ programme for all six AQ clinical focus areas, including sepsis.
AQ data showed that there were opportunities for improvement in care delivery for sepsis, so in 2021, the hospital launched a sepsis improvement plan.
