Safety by Design will support teams to embed safe care within their service. Participants will gain an increased understanding of safety, and ways to create safe practices within their teams.
Providing an overview of the principle elements of safety, we will facilitate teams to identify their own safety challenges and then support them to implement rapid improvements. Depending on the safety challenge, this may include utilising our psychological safety checklist, supporting staff to debrief, reflect and improve practices at the end of their shift.
This programme combines safety knowledge, including Human Factors (HF), Psychological Safety and is aligned with the National Patient Safety Strategy priorities. It is also underpinned by basic Quality Improvement (QI) tools and techniques such as The Model for Improvement and Stakeholder Mapping.
This programme is ideal for teams of staff with an identified challenge or improvement aim focused on improving safer care.
It is particularly relevant to clinical staff who are working in organisations or systems.
This programme is flexible depending on teams bespoke needs. There are up to four virtual support sessions with implementation work in between.
This programme will be delivered through a combination of virtual online sessions and on site delivery, tailored to your team.
