Applied Motivational Interviewing for Teams enables health and care professionals to gain an understanding of motivational interviewing techniques and apply them to their own clinical practice.
The programme is structured around direct learning plus coaching support to embed learning and demonstrate how using the skills has improved practice.
As part of the programme initiation, we will work with leads to work to agree outcomes that meet the needs of participants in the context they work in. The coaching support will enable participants to share how they have applied the principles to case examples, and embedded the skills into their practice.
This programme is ideal for teams, clinical or non-clinical staff who have contact with patients engaging with a service.
This is a flexible programme to meet the needs of the team. A minimum requirement is one day teaching plus half a day follow up/ coaching support to embed the learning.
This programme will be delivered through a combination of virtual online sessions and blended learning.
To enable participants to demonstrate their learning in practice, there is an expectation that attendees will apply their learning to their work. The coaching support enables attendees to share how they have applied the principles to case examples, and embedded the skills into their practice.
No pre work is required for delegates but the programme lead will request examples of case study scenarios related to the teams clinical practice, prior to session one. This will ensure the learning throughout the session is realistic to their own clinical area of expertise and designed in collaboration with you to meet the needs of the team.
As part of programme initiation, we will work with leads to work to agree outcomes that meet the needs of participants in the context of the teams that they work in.
To support this, each delegate will be asked to complete a:
•Skills assessment at baseline and completion of the programme
• Case study reflection
• Programme evaluation
