Advancing Quality (AQ) is a programme designed to improve the quality of care and reduce unwarranted clinical variation in the care delivered to patients.
Every year, the programme produces annual reports for each of its participating provider organisations. These reports retrospectively summarise the previous years performance for participating providers, highlighting and benchmarking where organisations are doing well and where there are opportunities for improvement. They contain details about readmission rates, length of stay and in-hospital mortality, where appropriate. Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts show performance for each AQ measure over the last three years to help organisations to identify trends.
The reports include data on AQ’s six clinical focus areas. These include acute kidney injury (AKI), decompensated liver disease (DLD), elective hip and knee replacement, community acquired pneumonia (CAP), hospital acquired pneumonia (HAP), and sepsis.
If you have any questions about the reports or would like further information, please contact Tom Jenks (AQ Senior Business Intelligence Analyst) on tom.jenks@srft.nhs.uk.
